Frequently Asked Question
Why is my handle and/or email already registered? WTF?
Try your old 3-DArena username and password. You really are probably registered. You're not insane. Well, you may be. We're not shrinks. But not about this. It's probably not amnesia. It's probably that your old 3DA Account is already ready to go.

Terms of Service
XFX-3d does not have a 'Terms Of Service.'
XFX-3d reserves the right to refuse
service to any individual, organisation or legal entity at any point in time,
and to withold the use of that right as it sees fit. You are not required to
be clothed while browsing this site.
XFX-3d may occassionally ban or otherwise restrict users, however. In the event
a user is banned or restricted, their purchase of products or a subscription
will not be construed as a protection against this. While the does not constitute
a Terms of Service agreement, it should serve as a guideline for the sort of
extreme bullshit that will get your ass shown to the door:
- Attempting to hack, damage, or defile the site or operation of the site
itself. Any users, crackers, self-labelled hackers, script kiddies, 1337 |-|@><0Rz,
or otherwise, who are perceived by the management of this site to deliberately
attempt to interfere with the operation of this site will be banned in any
way possible, quite possibly without trial, and, if necessary, legal action
will be taken against the individual with extreme prejudice and as hard of
an eye to overkill as is possible. That fucks our shit right up.
- Posting of child pornography. Faeries aren't, little girls sucking cock
are. There's no hard and solid defined rule as to what is and what isn't,
but it's pretty damned obvious when it is. We do not feel that digital virtual child pornography is inherently evil, as no kids are getting damaged, but it's just fuckin' gross, and we won't have it here. Plus the legal status keeps getting bounced back and forth.
- Threatening legal action against XFX Publishing, the constituents thereof,
Dodger himself, or the site itself (anywhere, not necessarily on this site).
- Warezing. The forums and other communication media are not for your warezing
pleasure. If you have a problem with this... Jesus, can't you at least
be smart enough to keep it in your email, people? WTF? Are you retarded!?
Seriously.
- Being a completely vile shithead. This will generally be determined by a
consensus of the offended administration, which may well consist of Dodger
and Ironbear, and possibly even Penguinisto from time to time. This doesn't
mean you're all walking on eggshells, we're fair and we all disagree with
each other plenty. What it means is that a swift but rational decision will
be made if we have to consider it necessary. Consider that we actually considered
allowing Ron Knights in, at least tentatively. We didn't, but we considered
it.
The lack of a TOS has certain interesting effects. First, we trust the community
to police itself. You're all adults. Act like it or don't.But don't go running
to an admin whining that someone hurt your feelings, or you're more likely going
to be the one on the stinky end of the shit stick.
Also keep in mind that certain parts of this site follow different rules. We
can and very well may move flamewars out of instructional forums. We won't do
shit to interfere in the Weasel Pit. Ironbear's RFI forum/chat/blog/whatever
the fuck it is at this point follows IB's rules. On the rare occassions that
IB and Dodger disagree on something in RFI, IB's rules will apply WITHIN RFI
and Dodger's outside, unless it's a legal sort of thing where IB will just have
to deal because Dodger ain't gettin' in trouble for IB's shaggy ass's sake.
By the way, cuss as much as you fucking like, just in case you hadn't figured
that out by now.
Stuff
This site uses a combination of PHP and Perl. Most of the Perl used is running under mod_perl. Database backends are built under MySQL. The site is running Apache 2.0 and runs through Solaris 9 on a Sun Ultra 5.
Portions of this site run under the PostNuke engine and PHPBB. This is sort of a disease in a way, and we're working on a cure.
Special thanks to Shawn Backus (Lady SilverMage/LSM) for prodiving the initial database fill and forum content. Special thanks to Tom Miller of Utah, AKA Penguinisto, for providing a 40GB hard drive that we needed desperately.
